“OM” is a powerful mantra it is chanted mostly at the beginning and end of the Yoga Asana (sessions). It provide physical and mental vibration. Derived from Yoga, the mantra is considered to have high spiritual and creative power. “OM” has rich in meaning and depth. When pronounced “OM” correctly it is actually AUM.
It can be practice by sitting in Sukhasana and Padmasana as per comfortable.
Inhaling the deep breath and start to pronounce OM. The letter ॐ (OM) is constructed by अ (Aa) + ऊ (U) + म (Ma). So, it starts to pronounce by अ (Aa) then it goes to ऊ (U) and at last it goest to म (Ma). The combination of it completes ॐ (AUM). After complete, take deep breath in and pronounce again as per previous.
hree times chanting is essential. It gives peace and calm to the mind.
Everything in the universe is pulsating and vibrating – nothing is really standing still! The sound “OM”, when chanted, vibrates at the frequency of 432 Hz, which is the same vibrational frequency found throughout everything in nature.
It is assumed that “OM” is the basic sound of the universe. By chanting “OM” we are physically and symbolically tuning in to that sound and acknowledging our heartily connection goes to all other living beings, nature and the universe.
Additionally our body gets physical effects at the vibrations and rhythmic pronunciation. Similar to meditation “OM” chanting slowly down the nervous system and calms and quiets the mind. When the mind is relaxed, it reduce stress level and decrease the blood pressure and ultimately improves the health of heart.
At the beginning and ending of Yoga Asana (session) with “OM” chanting helps to connects us to our practice in a deeper way than just with physical postures.
At last, it is also a way to explain the time of practice from the rest of our day and indicate that this is a special time in which to care for ourselves and practice being mindful. Practice early in the morning is very effective for our physical, mental and spiritual health.
